Competitions

Today clubs compete against each other in Surf Carnivals. The competitions help to raise the standard of lifesaving and are a very popular spectator sport.

The clubs run "Nippers" clubs, which teach children how to swim safely in the surf. Many "Nippers" grow up to become Lifesavers.
