A New Club

In 1906, at Bondi Beach, a group of strong swimmers decided to do something to help the weaker bathers, who were getting into difficulties. They formed a club - a Surf Life Saving Club.

The club organised two strong swimmers to be "on duty" during the most popular swimming times.

They made a roster, so all club members would share the work.
