These organisations offer a range of volunteer-based home support services which might
include home help, assistance with domestic tasks. Check with each organisation about the
specific services available. Legitimate organisations should have clearly defined policies
regarding confidentiality, volunteer selection and training, statement of clients' rights
etc....
If at all unsure, ask.
METROPOLITAN
The largest volunteer-based home care support program in metropolitan Melbourne.
Volunteers have access to an extensive training program.

operating in St Kilda and neighbouring suburbs, offering care and companionship to all
people affected by HIV/AIDS.

Help with Domestic Pets

A volunteer group providing practical support for people with HIV/AIDS so that they can
continue to maintain their pets in their home. (Dog walking, Feeding, Grooming,
Accommodation for pets during their owners' hospitalisation, finding homes for pets on the
death of the owner etc...)
