The site has been established and will be maintained by individuals living with HIV/AIDS and their friends, in response to the need for accessible information and a means of communication between people with HIV/AIDS. We are unfunded and unable to provide hard copy, but hope you will feel free to copy appropriate parts of it for positive people who may not have ready access to the site. Please refer to the Disclaimer.

Our Mission

The mission of Positive People Victoria is to empower people living with HIV/AIDS and to improve their quality of life, by providing access to appropriate information as identified and required, in a manner which is supportive and non-judgemental, and respects each person’s right to independence, privacy and confidentiality.

Our Goals

Accessibility

The information provided by Positive People Victoria will be readily accessible to all Victorians through a variety of media.

Participation

Positive People Victoria will encourage the participation of all Victorians living with HIV/AIDS who wish to contribute.

Standards

The quality of Positive People Victoria information services will be a benchmark in excellence against which other similar organisations will measure their success.

Community Liaison

Positive People Victoria, by fostering strong relationships and linkages with other appropriate organisations, agencies and individuals, will be recognised as experts in the provision of information and resources to people affected by HIV/AIDS.

Accountability

Positive People Victoria will maintain excellence in standards of accountability to its supporters and any funding providers through appropriate evaluation and monitoring processes.
