A Hard Call

By Paul Mc Cann

Day after day the same question keeps running through my head .
Is this child we’re expecting alive or is this child dead?
The destiny of an unknown answer is yet to come .
It’s a hard call to take when the hope of this life goes numb.
Like a ship tossed at sea I’m calm in the eye of a storm .
As miscarriage came God reclaimed the life of our unborn .
Grief for life in the womb and tomb, brief the time it was there .
Both of us felt emptiness like life in the womb stripped bare.

Never Again

By Paul McCann

Never again to share this place,

Never again to see her face,

Never again to hold her hand

Never again to understand

Never again to shed a tear,

Never again to suffer here,

Never again will I ask why.

Never again has she to die

Deaths Triad

By Paul McCann

Alone

When death shall come who can say ,
Go away I'm not at home .
For death is like a final knock.
We face it all alone .

Awake

Tell me have you heard of heaven,
and do they know you're there ?
This world is almost like a womb,
eternal life we'll share .

A Silence

There is no pain or anger.
I have nothing left to say.
In a place of peace,
For death has taken it all away .

In Memory Of 9-11

By Paul McCann

On that September Day there was nothing to say .
I watched in silence that day
as my my breath ran away .
You could say something bad
You could say something mad
you could say something sad
but what more can I add .
They thought they had the right
to go hi jack that flight
into hell and heaven
It was 9-11
New York City
I cried .
All those people died .
I pray and remember
every September .
For all who had died .
Their memory survived .
