Venturer Motto Looking Wide

Venturer Scout Law & Promise

The Venturer Scout Promise
On my honour
I promise that I will do my best
To do my duty to my God and
To (the Queen of) Australia,
To help other people, and
To live by the Scout Law

The Venturer Scout Law
A Scout is trustworthy
A Scout is loyal
A Scout is helpful
A Scout is friendly
A Scout is cheerful
A Scout is considerate
A Scout is thrifty
A Scout is courageous
A Scout is respectful
A Scout cares for the environment

Queen's Scout Award Queen's Scout Award badge

The award scheme in Venturers focuses on the Queen's Scout Award. This award requires achievement in each of four Activity Areas: Adventurous Activities, Community Involvment, Leadership Development and Personal Growth, which in turn each have a number of areas that need to be completed to reach the required standard.

The pinnacle of achievement in Venturers is the Queen's Scout Award. Technically this is not the highest award available in Scouting in Australia; that distinction belongs to the Baden-Powell Award earned in the Rover Section (18 to 25 years of age). However, the Queen's Scout Award is the more widely recognised award in the general community, and is also more equivalent to the "highest" awards in Scouting in other countries, such as the Eagle Scout in the United States, or Queen's Scout or equivalent awards in other British Commonwealth countries.
