"GLIMPSES OF THE PAST"

Following the Annual Pioneer Service at St. James Old Cathedral, Melbourne on 2 November 2008, members of the congregation moved to the adjoining Conference Centre for refreshments.

In the foyer of the Conference Centre information tables had been prepared by members of the congregation of St. James Old Cathedral and members of the Port Phillip Pioneers Group. Following refreshments, members of the Port Phillip Pioneers Group presented a 30 minute program entitled "Glimpses of the Past."

Mavis Gerdtz spoke on Margaret Kaan's ancestor, Frederick Manton.

Brian Gerdtz spoke about his ancestor, John Clark.

Laurie Thompson spoke about his ancestor, John Osborn.

Michael Grogan spoke about his Doyle family ancestors.

The speaker's talks were fully illustrated with projected images prepared and shown by Barbara Hawkins. The presentation was well received by the audience who afterwards viewed a variety of wall displays about our pioneering ancestors.
