Michelle Ramsay

As the granddaughter of an early graduate of Emily McPherson and the daughter of an excellent seamstress I have inherited a passion for textiles and a love of stitch.

My eye for colour has been further developed by my career in photography.

Currently I am a keen tutor in Mosaics and Calligraphy at my local Living and Learning Centre. In 2003 I undertook my first Artist in Residence at a local Primary School and found the experience to be fulfilling and a lot of fun.

My family and I are keen sailors and I have developed pieces around themes of the sea.

I am currently having meaningful relationships with my heat gun and sewing machine in the context of my current textile work.
