PPCC Inc. Policy Statement No. 14 "Marinas
in or near Port Phillip" Is
Victoria’s approach to Port Phillip marinas starting to resemble that
of Dubai? |
|

SIX SITES FOR PROPOSED
MARINAS BELOW, on Victorian Coastal Strategy map of Port Phillip, Section 4.5.3 at end of page
& described by the euphemism "Safe Harbour", all pose
substantial environmental problems. The Victorian Coastal Strategy does not designate
any sites for proposed "Unsafe Harbours". Those six
sites, which are in addition to the STATE MARINE PRECINTS of Melbourne
(defined to include Docklands, St Kilda, Port Melbourne, Williamstown, and the Yarra and
Maribyrnong Rivers) and Geelong, are designated for marinas, but other marinas below,
not at designated sites, have, or are, being built even before the six
designated marinas have been completed, as can be seen by viewing the
8-minute PPCC Inc. slideshow of aerial
photographs around Port Phillip. |
