Feedback: 2005

Site redeveloped December 2005, and released the first weekend of December. Let me know what you think, and what you would like to see in the future.

  • 3-Nov-05 Steve (from Cornwall) claims descendancy from an Isle of Wight ancestor who married twice - to Susanna Gribble (of High Logan near Redruth whose father was William Gribble, a miner) born 1824 and to Sarah Gribble born 1806 died 1846. He suspects these women were Illogan Gribbles from generations 4 and 5 of this website's Illogan Gribble family tree. Copies of birth and marriage certificates and family letters are on the net www.kammneves.co.uk/gribbles/ Editors Note: Amazing! Could it really be true? I have no idea.

  • 21-Mar-05 Lynda (a Canadian Gribble - Retallack? descendant) who suspects her ancestor might be Charles Gribble, eldest son of William Gribble & Susanna Retallack. Why? Her Charles (decd between 1829 & 1834) after marriage to Elizabeth Gill (1822) had a son Henry Retallack Gribble (1829). His son was James Retallack Gribble (1851). Editors Note: Interesting. I have found little info on Charles Retallack Gribble and this might be the explanation. Who knows?

  • 6-Jan-05 Yvonne (4x gt granddaughter of Eleanor Gribble (1771) daughter of William Gribble & Joan Blighe) noted that before her FH research had always believed her family had always lived and worked in Lancashire as cotton workers/ag labs. Was shocked at Cornish origins as she lived in Devon! Editors Note: The internet is an amazing place. I wonder what Yvonne might have uncovered about the siblings of her 4x gt grandmother Eleanor Gribble (1771) - especially the brother William (1774)!
