Cosy, fully renovated, 19th century cottage on farmhouse property
in the beautiful Morvan natural park.
This self-catering cottage is attached to “Les Pommerats”
farmhouse property, in the middle of the Morvan
natural park, famous for its green rolling hills and abundance
of bird and wildlife. We are on the fringe of the village of Ouroux
en Morvan - a very short walk away from all basic services,
including bakery, butcher, chemist, mini-market, Sunday market,
wine cellar, tourist office and bicycle hire.
The cottage (60m2) comfortably sleeps six, suits families. Downstairs
comprises a double bedroom with view to garden; large, modern bathroom
with shower/bath-tub; living/dining area with open fire place, table
seating six, and sofa bed; kitchenette equipped with double sink,
fridge/freezer, microwave, double electric hotplate, kettle, toaster
etc.; exposed oak beam ceilings throughout. Upstairs there are two
double beds, and a lounge area with TV, books and magazines.
Car parking is available either in the courtyard or in a barn;
barbecue available; plenty of garden space for outdoor eating. Washing
machine available in main house.
Ouroux is situated between the Lac de Pannecière and the
Lac des Settons, ten to twenty minutes to swimming, boating and
fishing. A short drive will take you to the historic cities of Autun,
Beaune, Dijon; the finest Bourgogne wineries; Michelin 3 star restaurants;
famous Gallic, Roman and Christian sites, including the 12th century
Crusades town of Vezelay and Gallo-Roman capital Bibracte. The area
is dotted with charming chateaux, many open to visitors, and unspoiled
mediaeval villages, and offers horse-riding and well-marked walking
trails through beautiful wooded countryside.
Tariff
€ 450 per week including taxes.
Price includes all electricity, fuel for heater, wood, bed linen,
towels, and a welcome package of basics such as tea, coffee, milk,
bread.
10% non-refundable fee to secure booking; balance required one
month in advance.
Available for rent from beginning of May to mid-October. This property
is not suitable for renting in winter months.
Children are welcome but please note that stairs leading to upper
bedroom/TV area are not suitable for very young ones.
Pets are also welcome, but owners of smart dogs should know that
the gardens are not totally enclosed and the surrounding fields
can be a great temptation.
