BRIAN and AJ FOAKES

AJ came to Peterhouse as AJ Tracey in September 1999 from Kenya. She taught Physics and Chemistry and in July 2000 was appointed Head of Lower School Science. Brian meanwhile was teaching at Ruzawi and after their wedding he moved across to teach Music and became Head of the IT Department at Peterhouse in September 2000.

Both Brian and AJ quickly got totally involved in all aspects of life at Peterhouse. AJ coached Cricket with distinction and also coached Hockey and Golf. Brian had much to contribute to Music and taught boys to play a wide variety of instruments. His organ playing and work with the Choir, school Jazz band and Orchestra were much appreciated by us all.

Brian was appointed Housemaster of Paget in May 2001 where he and AJ set up s great team effort. Brian's biggest contribution was perhaps his setting up of our new IT department and the move into the new computer rooms.

Both Brian and AJ were passionate about all they did and sometimes "threw the ball into the air" and in an attempt to catch it found there was a few "bumping of heads" with colleagues on occasions.

Both were dedicated, extremely hard working teachers and had magnificent expertise in a wide range of specialist disciplines.

We thank them for all they did for the school but especially for their work in Paget, and wish them all the best for the future, on returning to England. They are now Houseparents of the co-ed boarding house of Skegness Grammar School in Lincolnshire, UK. Brian teaches Music and AJ Science. wainfleethall@hotmail.com
