Erith ("Er") Harris (Staff 1990 -97)

Er Harris arrived at Peterhouse to be the Director of Administration after being the Headmaster of Whitestones in Bulawayo. During the years prior to his arrival the school had grown enormously and the administrative side was stretched to its limits in trying to look after three schools with over a thousand students, the various staff houses and two workers' villages.

Erith was always a very approachable man and used to keep his cool even under the most trying circumstances. One of his major achievements was the masterminding of the Gibbs Centre, and he was also instrumental in overseeing the first stage of the infrastructure programme at Peterhouse and, later on, the pipeline from Kushinga Phikelela. After 8 years the call of a return to the classroom was too much to resist and he has a senior position at Ruzawi.
