Dugan Aylen (P93) wrote in May 2004 : "I worked as a sail safaris guide on Lake Kariba during 1994 and worked and travelled in the UK and Australia before returning to the UK to attend university. Graduated with a BA (Hons) Business Studies Degree from the University of Plymouth in 2000 where I met the love of my life - Lucie Fletcher (yes, she's a Pommie!!). Moved with her to Norfolk and spent a year working before travelling the world for 12months through Southern Africa, to New Zealand, Hong Kong, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and India. Returned to UK in May 2002 and started work in Norfolk as a Franchise Consultant. Andrew Baird (90) and Colin Vincent (P90) were involved in Penguins in Africa a band that released a CD Freedom like a Baby in 1995 which has enjoyed considerable success. He worked for the Cargill Commodity trading division in Harare, but our spies claimed in 2003 that he was working at Hear the Music, a recording studio at Hear the Word ministries in Harare.

Colin Bailey (E93) lives in Argentina after 4 years in North Carolina. Still processing tobacco!

Hylton Baker (G92) passed with credit at Lackham College, UK and was on the family farm in Middle Sabi. We hope he still is.

Susie { Baker } Whaley (PHG93) is married to Philip "Squacky" Whaley (G90). They were forced by "war vets" to leave the Whaley family farm near Macheke/Murewa and then lived and worked on the Baker family farm just outside Marondera. They now farm in Parys near Jhb.

Jenny { Barratt } Barratt - Carr (PHG91) worked as a secretary before marrying Lance Carr (E91). They were trying, despite interruptions, to farm north of Harare when we last heard.

Brian Bathurst (G92) worked on the family tobacco farm for three years in Karoi then on a sugarcane farm in Chiredzi. He moved to the UK in 1999 and lives "only 10 minutes from Heathrow Airport with my elder and younger brother and their girlfriends, I work for a Swedish Broadcasting Company taking care of the buildings maintenance. Brenda { Baxter } Bell (PHG91) founder of PHG, Brenda graduated from Rhodes University with a BA in Journalism then joined the family business in Harare. She married Ron Bell (ex-St John's) in 2001. Brenda is a keen golfer and is currently studying for an MBL with Unisa. Brenda and Ron had a daughter, Bronwyn, in 2004, and a son, Connor in 2008. Adam "Arni " Bell (S93) spent two years with Executive Air on leaving school. .He wrote in March 2006: "Graduated from Blackfordby Agriculture college in 1999, worked all over Zimbabwe on farms finally ending up as a general manager on a large horticultural estate in the Odzi area before loosing the battle to politics in 2003 , went to try life in the UK , Zambia and Mozambique . Dale Beswick (F94) did a Systems Engineering degree at the Australian National University in Canberra and played rugby for the university. Sarah Buckler (PHG90), one of the first Head Girls, spent a year in America as a Rotary Exchange student before qualifing as a teacher at UCT. She was teaching at Watershed when she tragically died of an asthma attack in 1997.A beautiful Chapel has been built at the school in her memory.

Stuart Burl (G91) farmed Mushangwe Estate in the Ruzawi River area with his father Alan Burl (G64) until it was expropriated in 2002. Alan at one stage faced criminal charges. See 22 August 2002 Newsweek report

Allison { Burr } Putterill (PHG93) married James Putterill (E90) in 2000. She worked on the accounts side at Chicken Inn in Harare for some years. They ran the family farm in Macheke, but it is rumoured to have been expropriated.

Clare { Burr } Barclay (PHG90) moved to a tobacco farm in Karoi, is remarried to Hamish Barclay and has two daughters.

Troy Burton (G94) died of malaria in 1997 while in the USA. Troy will be remember as one of the finest squash players to have represented Peterhouse.

Clint Burton (G92) passed with distinction at Lackam College of Agriculture in the UK, then farmed on family farm in Zimbabwe until 2000. He worked as a professional hunter in Zambia, but now lives in Harare with his partner Leanne Murray and has 3 year old twin girls. clintburt@hotmail.com .

Stephen Carey (E90) travelled the world on leaving school and was last sighted taking canoe safaris in Zambia.

Stuart Carlisle (G91) managed to combine a very successful international cricketing career with studies at Natal Technikon, including captaining the Zimbabwe cricket team. Stuart played for the school's First XI for three years, including captaining the side in his last year and hitting a 181. This was, however, topped by his 196 for the under 15As! He represented Zimbabwe schools, touring Australia and England and was one of top batsmen on each tour. After leaving school he worked for 18 months for Claude Neon Signs before deciding to study for a diploma with the Institute of Marketing Management. His cricketing successes include selection for the South African national Technikon team and the Zimbabwe national side, making his test debut in the First Test against Pakistan at Harare Sports Club in 1994/95. Stuart represented Zimbabwe in the 1999 World Cup after good form in a tri-nations tournament in Bangladesh which also involved Kenya and represented Zimbabwe in the Test and ODI Series in the West Indies and England in 2000 and NZ and Australia in 2001. He then captained on a number of occasions including a memorable 8 wicket victory in the second test against Bangladesh in Chittagong and Shane Warne's colourful language after Stuart hit him for consecutive sixes in an ODI against Australia in 2002 provoked a prolonged debate in the cricketing press. He played in the test and ODI series against England in 2003 and in Australia in 2004 and was much in the news along with other Zimbabwean cricketers in 2004 and 2005. Rick Carruthers-Smith (P94) studied at UCT and is the Revenue Manager of Colt Telecommunications in London.

James Carter (M95) works in Bulawayo, and was married in 2001.

Phil Carter (P95) represented Zim Rugby in the 2002 World Cup qualifiers. Our spy "Frank Source" reported in 2004 that: "Phil has been living in Heidelberg, Germany for the past 4 years where he has been playing rugby for one of the top German teams. He has also been able to recruit other Zimbabwean rugby players, by organising contacts for them in Germany. He has become a very influential member of the rugby community in this town and is involved in coaching as well and other administrative aspects of the game. When not on the rugby field Phil works for SAS an American software company that deals in business analytics software, as an Analyst."

Dudley Cartwright (M94) is working in IT in the London after completing a BComm at Rhodes University in 1998 . He was sharing a house with Andrew Hill (G91) in Wimbledon when we last heard years ago.

Stephen Chandler (F92) graduated in advertising in Johannesburg in 1997 and was with DDH&M Advertising in Harare. Innocent Chinyama (P93) did his A levels at Goromonzi High School then completed accountancy articles with Ernst & Young in Harare. He obtained a masters degree in corporate finance at SDA Bocconi in Milan, Italy then relocated to Johannesburg where Innocent works as an M&A executive in the resources division of the Investment Banking Group for Macquarie Bank. The ever unreliable "Frank Source" reports that Tapiwa ("Tap") Chinyadza (P94) "got married in Dec '05 in a glitzy Harare wedding to Vimbayi Manyumwa (PHG96)." Tap finished his B Com in 1998 and was when we last heard an accountant in Harare.

Dr Tanyanyiwa ("Tan") Chinyadzo (P94) did his first two years of medical school at St. George's University on the Carribean island of Grenada before doing his clinical rotations in the USA. He is now qualified and working as a medical doctor in New York. He was married in May 2002 and our spy "Frank Source" spotted some of the usual suspects in the wedding limo Tongai Maramba, Tapiwa Chinyadza, and Siff Hlazo.

Thomas Chitambo (F94). wrote in 2007: "I'm currently with Ernst and Young Botswana. I served articles with Ernst & Young in Mutare and qualified as a CA. I'm married to Maita with two wonderful kids Nigel and Natasha."Email .

Taka Chiwocha (90) returned to Lansing, Michigan.and wrote in 2003: "I graduated from nursing school three years ago. I spend the majority of my time investing in real estate which is a big business here and perks my interest. I am still single and have no children. I do plan to return to Zim one day." Graham Cochrane (M95) graduated with a Bachelor of Architectural Studies from UCT in 1999 then worked for a Harare firm for a few months and was involved in the design process for the Peterhouse Science Centre. William Cochrane (M93) did a BSc (Agric) at the University of Natal, Pietermaritzburg then travelled through Canada, skiied in Vail, Colorado, travelled for 8 days in a dugout without a guide down the Amazon, climbed in the Peruvian Andes, and doubled Mexico's annual tequila sales! Will was selected for the Zimbabwe A rugby side. He was work ing for Cochranes Engineering in Harare when we last heard, after being married in glorious kilted splendor to Kerry Baxter (PHG94) in December 2001.

Tammy { Coetzee } Sadler (PHG91) did a secretarial course in Harare, then she and her husband Glen farmed in Tengwe. She wrote in September 2006 "We are still living in Atlanta, with our 3 children..Samuella, Jadyn and Brogan! My husband is in the granite industry, and I run my own cleaning business, which is booming. "Email .

Ryan Collett (E94) worked first as an instructor at the Outward Bound School at Chimanimani then as a hunter/guide with Zindele Safaris. He is married to Jenny Major and lives in London working and travelling, but with plans to come back to Zimbabwe.

Ryan Colyer (P91) was in investment banking in London, but moved to Sydney in 2001, where he was studying for an MBA when we last heard.

Lance Cordy (P93) the 1993 Deputy Head of School was back in Zimbabwe for a while after living in Wimbledon, UK and working in software development. He married Laura Blake (ex-Chisipite) and moved to Wellington, New Zealand, via Australia, in February 2002. He wrote in May 2004: "I am still working for EDS New Zealand, but have been transferred from Wellington to Auckland. I spent time early this year holidaying around Australia and also managed to finally get down to see the South Island of New Zealand after having lived here for over two years ! Dr Angus Currie (M95) qualified as a vet at Onderstepoort, University of Pretoria after doing his first couple of years at the University of Zimbabwe's veterinary faculty. Paul Curwen (G91) finished a BSc (Hons) in Geology at Natal University and moved to London where he worked in investment banking for 4 years. He then decided to return to study and did an MSc in Environmental Technology and is now working towards a PhD in Flood Management at Imperial College, London. He wrote in 2009: " I have worked in the UKL as a flood and river enginering in an engineering consultancy. I got married to an English girl in 2007 and we had a baby boy in 2008. Buckley Davy (M91) did a course in Nature Conservation and a BTech at UCT and then worked as the wildlife manager of Savanna Wildlife in the hub of Zimbabwe, Mvuma. However, the ever unreliable "Frank Source" reported in 2002 that "he is being paid big bucks showing people in the Caribbean how to enjoy themselves."

Alan Donald (P90) travelled the world as a scuba diving instructor. He sailed through the Panama Canal, delivered a catamaran from Durban to Benguerra Island in Mozambique and worked in South America. He established a dive business based in Harare, Aquagem, with his partner Adam Watson (G81) and a scuba diving, sailing, and spearfishing set up in Vilancoulas, Mozambique under his company - Aquagem Dive Safaris. He tragically drowned while spear fishing in Mozambique in October 2005.

Karen Donald (PHG94) followed her heart on leaving school and qualified as a chef. She runs her own business in Harare "Made by Karen" which does a bit of everything - jewellery, fudge, preserves, jams, mobiles, sun catchers, etc, etc. Our spies report that it is doing very well. Itayi Gondo (S94) joined PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) in Harare and earned a Bachelor of Accounting Science Degree from The University of South Africa in 1997. Itayi joined the Seattle, WA USA PwC Audit practice in 1999, qualified as a Certified Public Accountant then moved to New York to lead an initiative in the Legal and Compliance Department of the firm. Iain Harnden (S94) graduated from Florida State University, Tallahasse and is a succesful Florida architect. Iain held the Zimbabwe 110 hurdles record at 14.23 seconds and ran for the Zim All Africa team in 1999 and at the Sydney 2000 Olympics. Iain is married to Susan and they are expecting their first child in 2005

Ken Harnden (S91) went on an athletics scholarship to De Paul University in Chicago. He ran for Zimbabwe in the Atlanta Olympic Games, the Commonwealth Games (400m hurdles Bronze Medal 49.06s), the 1999 All Africa Games, the 1999 World Championships in Seville, Spain and the 2000 Sydney Olympics. He set the Zimbabwe 400m hurdles record at 48.05, the 400m record at 45.19 and the 200m record at 20.69. Ken is still living in Tallahassee Florida USA and is a full time Track and Field Coach at Florida State University and loves what he does.

Randle Harrap (F94) married Brenda Watson, a medical doctor who graduated from UZ. After Randle qualified with Pricewaterhouse Coopers, they moved to England where Randle works for The Royal Bank of Scotland in Equity Derivatives. Phil "Hodgie" Hodgins (G92) took a gap year on leaving school manning the cash register at the Chicken Inn on 2nd Street Extension, Harare before working for two years as the Export Merchandising Manager for a Zimbabwe based fashion house manufacturing clothing for European and US high-street chains. Hodgie then moved to the London as the UK Sales Manager of Kickers, a French footwear manufacturer.He has moved into the IT industry as the Channel Manager responsible for Europe, Middle East and Africa for a network security hardware manufacturer and has travelled extensively through Europe and the US, mostly with work. He was a member of the Mashonaland Skydiving Club and has a keen interest in Performance Kite-flying and Sky-diving .

Duncan Hodnett (S94) took 8 months out to work on the Formula 1 Grand Prix in 1997 and then was a director of a catering and events management company in London. He travelled for 6 months throughout central and south America before going on to Australia. He had a baby girl in 2004. Brenden Hutchings (P95) married Tracey Harvey in 2001. Our spies reported in 2004 that: "He is an IT specialist working for clients such as HSBC and T-mobile. He is a member of his local cricket side who are top of division 1, one short of county cricket. According to him he has not lost it. Other members of this team are Heath Paynter and Oli Robertson."

Shain Hutchings (P92) started out as a professional golfer, but now works in St Albans, Hertfordshire with Heath Paynter (95) in IT. Shain plays rugby for the local side, and Heath does a good job holding up the bar after the game. He assures us it will be the other way round once cricket season starts! Shain is addicted to gym and he reckons he has tripled in size since his school days.

Tracy Lees (PHG90) worked in London for a year, but moved back and worked in Harare for a while. At the end of January 2002 her father closed his hardware business after about 50 years of trading in Marondera. She moved to England where her brother Paul (P89) was living, with the intention of emigrating to New Zealand.

Justin Ledingham (P93) graduated from the Swiss Hotel School in 1996 and worked in leading hotels around the world. He was working in Shanghai helping to open up a new Hotel School, part of Les Roches, the school he went to in Switzerland when he was tragically killed by the 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami. Justin's body was found and positively identified, but searchers did not located his wife.

Dean Lemmer (F92) did a diesel apprenticeship in Harare and worked in Zambia for Jesper Lublinkhof (F94) and Kenya "for the president running his workshops." Dean got a United Air Services bursary in 1998 to sponsor his commercial flying licence and he has flown for United, DHL, Executive Air and now MK Airlines. Sally Ann { van Eeden } Thompson (PHG92) spent some time in Australia "on horse business" and was then a nursery school teacher in Bindura and started up a riding school. She married Doug Thompson in 2004, has a daughter and farms in Zambia.

Ross van Niekerk (G90) qualified as a pilot and aeronautical engineer and was flying for United Air Services in Harare, but is now a pilot with a British Airways affiliate in England. In 1998 he married an Australian girl. aiross@onetel.net.uk .

Scott van Niekerk (G91) did Physiotherapy at UCT, worked in Johannesburg, then went on to USA where he owns a physical therapy practice and still plays rugby.

Tanya { van Rooyen } Raath (PHG92) travelled overseas in 1996 and worked at Kyle Prep School in 1997. She married Sean Raath in 2000. Graham van Tonder (G94) notable for his orange hair and height of 6' 5", did a B Bus Science degree at UCT, then worked with A. T. Kearney Management Consultants in Johannesbug and Prudential Asset Managers and Merrill Lynch in London. He left in March 2003 to tour South America, NZ and Australia before returning to London. After 5 months in South America he had been in NZ for about 10 days when he was killed skiing at The Remarkables, near Queenstown on South Island aged 27. Graham attacked everything he did with unparalled exuberance and died too young.

Dr Kudzai "Kudz" Vengesa (F94) studied medicine at UZ and was in practice in Bulawayo. He wrote in September 2006 :"I am now in New York, USA training as a pediatrician and happily engaged to marry in January 2007." Email .

Colin Vincent (P90) was involved in a band called Penguins in Africa with Andrew Baird (90) that released a CD Freedom like a Baby in 1995, which has enjoyed considerable commercial success. Colin taught physics at St John's High.and married Rhonwyn van Rooyen, a womens' clothes designer in 1997. He was reported in 2006 to be leading a Church called God First in Bryanston, RSA.

Lao Watson-Smith lives in Cannes, France, having founded azur-online.com and boatbookings.com, global leisure and tourism related portals. Before that Lao ran the fundraising operations of several humanitarian organisations and charities doing work in Africa. Jonathan Westwood (F95) oversees the marketing and distribution of Red Bull products in Malta, where he lives. He does a lot of sailing in the Med. after passing an intensive course in England for his skipper's licence. He was married in 2008.

Julia { Weyl } Pettengill (PHG92) did a BA in Languages at UCT and her post graduate work focused mainly on educational development and literacy studies. She wrote in 2009: "I came to Boston in May 2000 for a Harvard Project for the summer and never left! I ended up working in Educational Development for a number of years, before taking the leap into the fashion full time. I got married in 2002 to Mark Pettengill, a software engineer, and we have two girls: Ava Claire and Sophie Liv. Philip "Squacky" Whaley (G90) is married to Susie { Baker } Whaley (PHG93) and was in the Zimbabwe Polocrosse team for the test series in Australia in July 1999. They were forced by "war vets" to leave the Whaley family farm near Macheke/Murewa and then lived and worked on the Baker family farm just outside Marondera. They now farm in Parys near Jhb..

Anthony Wheeler (P90) is a qualified fitter and turner. He is married with two children.

Leonie { Wilde } Herbst (PHG94) is married to ex-Nyamandhlovu farmer, John Herbst, and has a daughter Chloe Michelle born in 2001. They have lived in Botswana and Zambia since being evicted, and are now back in Harare. Leonie works in a business that sells generators and her husband repairs and services generators between doing photographic safaries. She then lived in Harare and worked for National Tested Seeds as Sales Manager & Agronomist before marrying Chris Thomas in October 2001.
