Finding Our Place
representations of space, history and identity in the City of Moonee Valley
Made possible by a Cultural Development grant from the City of Moonee Valley, this project brings together a sense of histories, presents and futures in the City of Moonee Valley, as seen through the eyes of a group of people who are prone to experience displacement as a result of psychiatric illness and treatment.
We have painted a mural that visually depicts the themes of belonging in space and time, with a group of artists with psychiatric disabilities who live, work, or spend time in the City of Moonee Valley.
The mural is located at the Doutta Galla Community Health Service, 15-19 Gracie St North Melbourne.
The progress of the mural was filmed, and the resulting film will be premiered on 16/5/09 at Flemington Community Centre. Contact Penguin Artists on
