Our Story
The
Preston Amateur Swimming and Life Saving Club is a community-based, amateur
swimming club, providing expert coaching, training and competition for swimmers
of all ages and levels in a friendly and supportive environment.
The Preston Amateur Swimming and Life Saving Club was founded in 1928. Next year, 2003, sees the Club celebrate it's 75th anniversary. A series of special events are being planned to mark the occasion, culminating in a dinner late in the year. Watch the calendar for further details.
Memory Lane
A detailed Club History is also being produced in recognition of the anniversary. All current and past members are invited to contact the Club if they would like to contribute.
Back in 1978, when the Club was celebrating it's Golden Jubilee, Robyn Bowen and the committee of the day prepared a brief history of the Club up to that time. It has been reproduced here for anyone who feels like a trip down memory lane.
