In the Autumn of 2001 G.S.B.G.A President Bill Brown took the following photographs of the Barooga Community Botanical Gardens. These gardens were established in the early 1990's
with the backing of the Berigan Shire Council.

The Council provided water from a disused water bore and undertook to mow the lawns.

The development of the Gardens became the responsibility of the local residents (then numbering less than a thousand). The Gardens had their official opening in 1993.

During February this year, 2005, Bill Brown revisited the Barooga Community Botanical Gardens to see how the looked in the middle of summer. The following photographs show that they are in great shape and there has been significanc improvement since the last visit.
During a twenty minute visit five family groups were either in the process of arriving or leaving.
