Oakleigh Technical School 1946

In 1946 just after the second world war the construction of the new school was a remarkable event considering shortages of building materials and skilled labour.

Former student   Max Thomson remembers:

Oakleigh Technical School had an active Army Cadet Unit.

Ex student   Bryan Membrey  excelled in his time at OTS particularly with Art and Boxing

In the years that   George Hunter  was Principal the school blossomed to its maximum development.

During these  times,   Ted Neville   returned to Oakleigh Technical School for a second time...

Dianna Bolger was the first girl to join Oakleigh Technical School as a horticultural student in 1981. Dianna writes about her experience in an article titled "A Rose Among The Thorns"

During the 1980's until the schools closure in 1991 students were taken on many school camps on the "Oakleigh Technical School Bus"
