This picture taken from the North Road shops shows a couple of people standing on the pile of rubble which is all that remains of the main school. The prefabricated classrooms "Bristols" are pictured still standing, ( these so named because they were reputed to have been made from aluminium melted down from WW2 Bristol aircraft ).

The roof of Hughesdale primary school can be seen in the distance. Hughesdale was used for post primary education in the years before OTS was built. It was the main feeder school for OTS.
