++ CONCEPT ++

This project is an interactive video installation. It is viewer operated. Viewers who do not interact, will not experience the full installation but the images and sound will still leave them with the impressions of " Imaginary Space Travel"

The interface for this installation will be built to give variable degrees of control over - the composition of images, sounds and effects - to the viewer. The viewer finds themselves emersed in visual elements which they have controlled* amounts of control over. (* The amount of control is pre-determined so not to confuse the viewer/operator.)

Mind Spaces -The aim while choosing the sounds and imagery that makes up these environments is to create associations between familiar physical environments and non-physical spaces like meditation and deep space.

Human Feelings - Movement of the body is a strong visual element used in this installation, and is used to convey the same type of feelings as we encounter during mind travel.

The viewer does need to know what he is controlling to make an effective visual experience. The aim for ease of operation is that it will require no more than 20 words to explain the interface.

The combination of images and subtle? uses of video effects is used to create a varying amount of experiences. The imagery has been designed to work well together no matter how it is composited.

At any instant whilst "driving" the composit the viewer will access symbolic representations of mind space. The viewer will also access many types of body movements and citron effects.
