-> STRUCTURE Solid State controllers are used as triggers (eg. switches and buttons). Namely for this installation: The LASER GRID - developed by Olaf and Aj pin-point movement in physical 3D space. The LASER GRID is connected directly to the standard printer port which comes with all PC. And is programmable in VS to send any midi note/string or switch as well as video playback and any video effects at an instant.
This installation also uses Variable controllers to manipulate video and sound effects in realtime: THE THRONE - Distance detection is used to read your hands as they wave through the air, removing the to touch anything to interact with the installation and freeing up the body to move more. The detectors are built into a type of THRONE, where the viewer can sit composite imagery and experience a physical and visual exploration of "imaginary space travel"
The Human-Computer interface in this installation is totally removed from the computer. It is custom built and fit into the space in a matter of hours.
