Instructions on how to get your photo on the internet.
You need to send me a file attached to an email - I can only deal
with one photo per email.
Then please wait until you hear from me that the photograph was
OK for me to use.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR GETTING YOU PHOTO READY FOR EMAILING.
Please prepare your photo according to the instructions
below.
I can only work with photographs in a digital format file
ending in the letters .JPG.
Open
your photo file as a JPG in Photoshop.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USING PHOTOSHOP
Open a photo in photoshop - by clicking FILE- then drop down
to the word "OPEN" and click on a file ending in JPG that
you would like to send .
When the photo is open, you are able to prepare it-
Select
- "IMAGE" then scroll down the list and click on
"IMAGE SIZE"
This
brings up the "window" - see below - labelled "IMAGE
SIZE".
1. Make
sure a TICK is in the "RESAMPLE" BOX before you begin to resize the
photo-
you can find the RESAMPLE BOX in the
lower left hand corner see number 1

Change "RESOLUTION" to 72 pixels/inch
see number 2

Next- "PIXEL DIMENSIONS" choose "pixels" for "WIDTH",
make it 400 pixels see number

Then
click OK
SAVING CHANGES
These changes need to be saved as a new file name so you don't overwrite
your existing high quality file.
Select
from top line menu bar of Photoshop
Click
FILE
then click "SAVE AS" - choose as a JPEG
[if
it is PSD file you will need to got to "LAYERS" select
"FLATTEN ALL LAYERS" to make this a JPG]
Then
you will see window - "JPEG OPTIONS" select "IMAGE OPTIONS",
slide triangle across to QUALITY to LOW or 3
or small file,
then
click OK.
Then attach this new file to an email to me.
To
email Liz click here any number of photos
per email now OK.

Summary

Open
Outlook Express,
click
File > New > Mail Message>
enter
email address for recipient
enter
a subject eg Camera Club
To
attach a file to your new email message, click Insert > File Attachment.
Locate
the file you want to send by browsing, Select it by clicking on
it once and then click the Attach button.
This
file you selected has now been attached to your new email message.
Click
on the Send button located in the upper left of the new message
window.
Then
wait until it has had time to go - watch blue line at bottom of Browser
window.
DISC - CDROM
Alternatively I can accept your files
on a a CD at a meeting.
Monitor checker -all
the shades should be just distinguishable from each other.
