Free security checks from Prahran Police

March, 2006
The Crime Prevention Office at Prahran have sent the following message to
Neighbourhood Watch:
We at Prahran Police believe that Stonnington is a well
policed and safe area to live in. However we would like to keep it this way
and believe that one way we can do this is by decreasing the number of
burglaries in our area through some simple measures. In light of this we are
asking that people become more aware of effective ways to make their homes
and businesses safer and more "burglar proof". To help with this we
are offering our services to conduct security checks on your homes and
businesses so that we can develop strategies to make them more secure.
Most of our recommendations are easy to implement and may
include using dead locks on doors and windows and asking neighbours to keep
and eye on your home when you are away on holidays. Often making your home look occupied and
difficult to enter is a really good deterrent to burglars.
If you would like to speak to us regarding this please
contact either Senior Constable Damien Lombard or Senior Constable Mark James
at Prahran Crime Prevention on
