Operation Identification

Marking your valuable items with your drivers licence number preceded by the initial of the state of issue, and adding a "This item has been marked for Police Identification" label makes you items more secure and also provides a visible deterrent to thieves. (Example: - V 1234 567 8 for a Victorian licence with the number of 1234 567 8).

To mark your items you can use either an engraver or for sensitive items, an Ultra-Violet (UV) pen may be used.

Any item that ends up at a Police Station can have its owner identified and can be returned to them.

Marking of valuables means that the item cannot be sold at a second hand store without the corresponding identification.
