The Northcote History Group

Who are We ? How Can You Help ?

    Council workers c1930

Arising from the demise of the Northcote Historical & Conservation Society our aim is the documentation and preservation of history relating to the former City of Northcote. History can be in a wide variety of forms including photographs, letters, articles, oral records, etc. We foster an understanding of the history of the people, places and things pertaining to Northcote, Fairfield, Alphington, Westgarth & Thornbury.

Our membership though small is diverse and includes people with a deep love and interest in Northcote's history. Some have a long connection with the area and are thus an excellent living history resource, others are relatively new to Northcote. You too can be a part of this group!

The group's main aim via this web site is the presentation of material (photographs, documents, etc.). Thus membership is depndent on people providing material for use on this site.

There is no committe for this group at this stage. Anyone who responds to this website with a document will have it included and their name as well, of course. Northcote Free Library c1911
