DG's WEEKLY message
Rotary Friends,
Fran and I trust that you have all had a wonderful Christmas and we wish you and your families a very happy 2006.We had a great time with our family over Christmas and with my eldest son I attended the Boxing Day Test match and met many Rotarians from our District who were also enjoying the new facilities at the MCG.
As all clubs in our District are resuming this week after a short recess I am looking forward to our Rotary meeting at Kyneton and I’m sure you are all the same.
January is Rotary Awareness Month and I believe that we have a responsibility to be aware of what Rotary is all about so that we can share that knowledge with others. The better the profile that our clubs have in their community the more aware others are about Rotary. RI President Carl-Wilhelm Stenhammer has said the through Service Above Self we can all create awareness both internally and externally, thus showing the world the great leadership on Rotary International.
I would like to remind you that the Registration cost for the District Conference will increase on 1st February and I ask that you all register as soon as possible to attend the 2006 Conference in Geelong.
Enjoy your week in Rotary                        DG John Wigley

From the desk of the District Secretary.
