DG's
WEEKLY message
Rotary Friends
I am pleased to
advise the our GSE team to Busan in Sth Korea will be led by Iven Mackay
from the RC Sth Yarra and I believe that Iven is a great choice for this
role.
Our club visits have continued and the welcome was warm and friendly at
Prahran, Central Melbourne Sunrise, Keilor, Brimbank and at Richmond Hill.
On Friday evening I was delighted to attend a dinner at International
House for the awardees of the Royce Abbey Award. Twenty-three awards have
been made and there were thirteen present to meet Royce and Jean and hear
a wonderful and friendly address. The most recent recipient of the
Agricultural Scholarship Natalino Babo. Martins from East Timor was also
present and well done to PE Roger Leask of RC Essendon who hosted this
event.
I would like to remind you to send your "fines" for October to
the District Treasurer for those clubs who are supporting the request by
Ambassadorial Scholars Stephanie, Sky and Mary to donate to the District
6860 Hurricane Katrina fund. Also I look forward to seeing you all at the
Big Benefit night on Monday 7th November at Ormond Hall, Prahran as our
Scholars say thank you to all they have met!
On Saturday afternoon the Rotary Safari Winnebago arrived in Melbourne at
last and it was set up in the City Square. The Batman Cluster Club
Presidents and Rotarians under the leadership of AG Dennis Shore were
there to meet and greet the public who were interested in the Health
issues that were on display and I'm sure ARHRF Director PDG Des Jones was
pleased to see it here
Enjoy your week in
Rotary.

handy for "fillers", do we keep this up? Responses to secretary@rotaryd9800.org
