DG's WEEKLY message
Rotary Friends and families
What awful devastation has been caused in Louisiana and Mississippi by Hurricane Katrina and I'm sure all Rotarians in District would want to support Rotarians in those affected areas.  There is a message from PRIP Frank Devlyn (now Chairman of The Rotary Foundation Trustees) elsewhere in this week's e-zine which will give you all the best way to make donations to enable Rotarians there to carry out humanitarian service to those who need it most.
This past week we have visited seven clubs and it has been such a wonderful experience. The warmth of the welcome is always there as is the friendliness of the members and what a variety of programs are being implemented. Our thanks to the Presidents and members of Northcote, Carlton, Gisborne, Castlemaine, Kew, Melbourne North and Melbourne South.
There are some very large projects involving the rebuilding of villages in Sri Lanka by Bendigo Sandhurst and Chadstone East Malvern, and at Melbourne South they are replacing canoes for the fisherman to resume their livelihood.
We will visit three clubs this week however we look forward to meeting many of you at the Australian Army Concert Band concert at the Glen Eira Town Hall on Wednesday 14th in aid
of the Re-building of East Timor.
Enjoy Rotary this week.                DG John Wigley

Quote of the Week:
"Good humor is a tonic for mind and body. It is the best antidote for anxiety and depression. It is a business asset. It attracts and keeps friends. It lightens human burdens. It is the direct route to serenity and contentment." - Grenville Kleiser
