DG's
WEEKLY message
Rotary Friends
Last
Tuesday evening we attended the 80th Birthday of the Rotary Club of Bendigo the second
oldest club in our District and what a great night of celebration it was.
Four of the clubs in Bendigo supported their parent and the other their grandparent. In all there were 270 attendees at the party! Our
club visits were to Malvern, Chadstone, East Malvern where they inducted two new members.
At Brighton it was good to hear of their strong community links. On Sunday I attended the RAWCS seminar at
International House and the 70 plus who attended were rewarded with some excellent
presentations about Rotarians Against Malaria, Save Water Save Lives, Being a Project
Volunteer, RYLA Banana Project, the role of the Foundation and National RAWCS,SAVI and
Bali. After that it was off to Romsey to join the Calder cluster Presidents and their
partners for a BBQ at the home of AG John Gradie and Lynn. A fun way to end the week.
The planning of the District Conference in Geelong is going well and in response to some
queries we will commence on Friday 31st March at 11-00am and conclude on Sunday ay 1-00pm.
Golf and Tennis are being organised for
Thursday afternoon the 30th March.
This coming week we are in Kyneton and Bendigo where we look forward to hearing about the
service projects that are in train for this year.
Enjoy your week in Rotary.
DG John Wigley

Attention all MEMBERSHIP
officers in all clubs.
Monthly returns are a requirement of all clubs and is a means for the District Governor to
monitor the health of the District membership. At the PETS seminar I was sure that we
would be able to lodge these returns via the District website. Unfortunately this has not
happened, and I ask that for the rest of the year, that returns are sent by the 15th of
each month to Rotarian Peter Lamping.
