DG's WEEKLY message
Rotary Friends,
This week our attendance at Club Changeovers ended with Elsternwick on Tuesday evening. President Bill Stoney is repeating his role for another year and with the enthusiasm shown by the club I'm sure that another great year of service above Self is in the making.
On Sunday we travelled to Pyalong to the tree planting but unfortunately we got lost!
Later in the afternoon I met with the district RYLA committee who were meeting in Kyneton at Fran's bookshop
I am pleased to advise that the "travel gavel" is on the move again as I am keen for it to continue its travels throughout the district.
On Monday evening we commence our club visits and we look forward to meeting you all in the coming weeks.
Enjoy Rotary this week!               DG John Wigley

From the Secretary's Desk:

District Directory
Most clubs should have received their district directories through the kindness of the couriers at Boise.  Any queries, please don't hesitate to let me know:

  1. Vale Geoffrey Ernest Hopper
The RC of Glenferrie is sad to report that PP Geoff Hopper passed away on Tuesday last after a long illness.  He was a much loved member and perhaps his major contribution to Rotary is perhaps his involvement in the Centennial Coin project.

  2. 413 TIMOR (& Bill) NEEDS U on Tuesday 26th July - loading 3 Containers - Find out How & Why

  3. Rotary Foundation Annual Program Giving and Centurion Club
Congratulations to all Clubs who contributed to the Rotary Foundation for 2004/2005, and to Rotarians who personally contributed to the Foundation through our District Centurion Program.
The Centurion Program raised $44,000, and had an increase of 41%of new Centurions for the past Rotary year. My grateful thanks to P.P. Vicki Teschke for administering the program.
Our total District contributions were $353,000 – a record for our District and the highest contributing District in Australia
My sincere thanks to the Rotary Foundation Annual Program Giving and Centurion Club Committee for this fantastic result.
Most importantly,  many more people will benefit from the Educational and Humanitarian Programs of The Rotary Foundation.                               PDG Ian Knight
