David Holmgren
David Holmgren is a futurist and the co-originator of the permaculture concept with Bill Mollison.
Of his best known book, Permaculture: Principles and Pathways Beyond Sustainability, Transition Towns concept originator Rob Hopkins has said, "it is no exaggeration to call this the most important book published in the last 15 years."
Future Scenarios (www.futurescenarios.org) explores David Holmgren's futurism and scenario planning work for an era of peak oil and climate change.
“Many futurists are looking at Facebook, robot pets and other i-fads, whereas David has been studying a much bigger picture. He draws on 30 years of permaculture thinking to address the fundamental resource and environmental constraints facing humanity. I think he is the most important futurist in the world right now,” said Adam Grubb, founder of Energy Bulletin.
