Objective
The Newham Sustainability Expo is designed to provide information and guidance for residents of the Macedon Ranges Shire and interested others on ways in which households, businesses and other participants in the community can live and conduct their affairs in environmentally sustainable and responsible ways.
Themes
House
• Energy sources and uses - solar, wind
• Heat gain and loss (shading, insulation, windows, doors)
• Indoor Air quality
• House design (green architecture, size of house, sustainable design)
• Retrofitting for energy efficiency.
Water
• Sources (roof, bore, run off), recharge rates
• Capture and storage (calculate availability and useage)
• Waste treatment, reuse
• Opportunities for reducing useage
Garden
• Food miles, home grown food, slow food
• Garden design (vegetable garden, fire resistant garden, low water garden)
• Sustainable gardening, permaculture.
Exhibitors
All exhibitors will be located at the Newham Primary School. To exhibit please download the
booking form.
Speakers
Speakers will delivering sessions at both the Newham Hall and the Newham Primary School. Sessions start at 9.30am and finish at 5.15 pm.
