Aquatic Development

The Ivanhoe Neons Swimming Club provides an Aquatic Development Program, conducted at The Ivanhoe Grammar School. The program is managed by the Joanne Love Swim School. All classes run on a school term basis, and term dates can be obtained from Joanne Love.

Transitional Stroke Group

Students must be able to swim 200m Freestyle and competently perform Backstroke and Breaststroke. All classes are of an hour’s duration. Level 1 Swim Coaches ensure your child is educated in correct techniques and appropriate skills for the opportunity to ‘springboard’ to competitive swimming.

Class Times

Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday: 4–5 pm and 5–6 pm
Thursday: 5–6 pm
Saturday: 9–10 am

Nippers Squad

This squad gives swimmers an opportunity to sample training programs, without the commitment of joining the Club. Emphasis in this group is on stroking, building kicking strength and learning routines and drills. In addition, tuition in race techniques, relay changeovers and the rules of swimming are given. Students must be able to proficiently swim 200m of Freestyle, Backstroke, and Breaststroke, and a short distance in butterfly.

Training Times

Monday: 4–5 pm and 5.15–6.15 pm
Tuesday: 4–5 pm and 5–6 pm
Wednesday : 4–5 pm and 5–6 pm
Thursday: 5–6 pm
Saturday: 9–10 am

Ivanhoe Grammar Students will have their fees added to their school accounts. For Non-Ivanhoe Grammar Students, fees are payable prior to term commencement. Fees are inclusive of GST.
