$120 per year (or $10 per month) will sponsor a child's education

This is the cost of an education kit for one year for areas where government schools are not available, so the students have to pay tuition fee as well as provide their own equipment. In some cases two children can be educated almost for the cost of one!

$12 = stationery costs per student per term; i.e. exercise books, pencils, eraser & sharpener
$400 = teacher wages, one term
$115 = classroom rent, one term
$115 = sundry costs per term; i.e. photocopies, markers and cleaning

$60 per year (or $5 per month) will pay for stationery and equipment enabling a child to attend a government school

Even at a government school children need to bring their own equipment, but many cannot afford to and thus cannot attend school.

$12 = set of pencils, erasers, sharpeners, coloured pencils and geometry box
$6 = 10 exercise books
$15 = text books and other reading materials
$6 = school bag
$23 = uniform

$10 per month for 18 months will make an Afghan woman literate

Any other amount, however small or irregular, will always be appreciated

Costs for future projects:

$900 = white board, desks + chairs for 20 students and one teacher.
$9 —12,000 = mobile health clinic (second hand)
$20 — 25,000 = mobile health clinic (new)

Other equipment for clinics will involve extra costs.
