All CERT teams across the state of Victoria are issued with a specially equipped Subaru Forrester.

These vehicles are fully fitted out with equipment considered necessary for initial management of a sick or injured person.

Amongst the life saving equipment is the Heartstart Automated External Defibrillator (AED).  All CERT personnel are qualified and re-qualified on a yearly basis in it's use.

Also important is the need to remain in full contact with the operations centre.  Whilst on duty each CERT member is equipped with a pager and portable radio.  The driver of the vehicle also carry's a mobile phone.
