HUD/2/Michael. Michael
HUDSON senior, who was buried on the 28th of April 1774 at Blanchland, in Northumberland,
England, is the assumed father of Michael below. HUD/3/Michael.
Michael HUDSON married Elizabeth ? (No Blanchland records exist prior to 1753, so birth
& marriage details may never be known. Michael was buried on the 13th of March 1791 at
Blanchland. Michael and Elizabeth had 4 children including Whitfield.
HUD/4/Whitfield. Whitfield HUDSON was baptised on
the 7th of May 1758 at Blanchland Parish in Northumberland. He became a lead miner and
married Margery WESTGARTH on the 5th of August 1780 at Stanhope in Durham. Whitfield
HUDSON was buried on the 28th of July 1821 at Blanchland in Northumberland, aged 63.
Margery WESTGARTH, is the daughter of Thomas WESTGARTH from Stanhope Parish in Durham.
There is no record of Margery's death. Whitfield and Margery had 12 children including
Westgarth.
HUD/5/Westgarth. Westgarth HUDSON was baptised on
the 24th of August 1795 at Blanchland in Northumberland. He became a lead miner and
married Jane BELL on the 15th of February 1819, at Blanchland Parish in Northumberland.
Westgarth who was living at Shildon in Durham, was buried on the 27th of November 1826 at
Blanchland in Northumberland, aged 38. His widow Jane, married Thomas Brown in 1830, but
there is no record of their death. Jane BELL was baptised on the 1st of November 1795 at
Middleton in Teesdale, Durham. She was one of 5 children by Richard BELL and Nancy DOVER.
Richard BELL was baptised on the 8th of February 1767 at Middleton in Teesdale, Durham.
Richard was a lead miner and was buried on the 28th of January 1836 at Blanchland in
Northumberland. Richard was one of 5 children by John BELL and Margaret ? Nancy DOVER was
baptised on the 7th of May 1764, the daughter of Daniel DOVER and Rebecca RIGG, who were
married at St Bees, Cumberland in 1761. Daniel DOVER was baptised on the 20th of March
1738 at Brough in Westmorland. His father William DOVER was buried on the 7th of July
1748, his mother Mary was buried on the 28th of March 1766, also at Brough in Westmorland.
Westgarth HUDSON and Jane BELL had 4 children including Michael.
HUD/6/Michael. Michael HUDSON was baptised on the
15th of February 1819 at Blanchland in Northumberland. He was a miner and married Mary
HUTCHINSON on the 11th of May 1840, at Whitehaven in Cumberland. Michael came to Australia
in 1861 aboard the Donald McKay. Michael died at Clunes on the 20th of February 1886 and
was buried on the 22nd of February 1886. Mary HUTCHINSON was baptised on the 12th of
October 1817, at Holy Trinity, Whitehaven in Cumberland. She was one of 12 children by
John HUTCHINSON, a furnace keeper at a coal pit and Hannah YATES who were married on the
21st of December 1816 at St Bees in Cumberland. John HUTCHINSON was the son of George
HUTCHINSON who married Mary HUTTON on the 4th of February 1790 at Alston in Cumberland.
John was baptised on the 31st of December 1793 at Alston in Cumberland. Michael HUDSON and
Mary HUTCHINSON had 8 children including George William.
HUD/7/George W. George William HUDSON was born on
the 12th of June 1855 at Consett in Durham. He came out to Australia aboard the Donald
McKay in 1861, and he worked as a miner and line repairer. On the 8th of January 1876 he
married Annie JONES at Creswich in Victoria. He died on the 18th of November 1907 and was
buried on the 20th of November 1907 in Melbourne Cemetery. Annie JONES was born at Clunes,
Victoria on the 5th of May 1856. She was one of 4 children by George Gomer Trevor JONES
and Margaret ROWLANDS, who were married in May 1852 in Anglesey, North Wales. George G T
JONES, a blacksmith, was born around 1826 in Denbighshire North Wales. His wife Margaret
ROWLANDS was born around 1831 at Llangefni in Anglesey, Wales. (George JONES died in March
1862, Margaret married Jonathon Rogers in November 1862, he died at Williamstown in 1891,
Margaret died in 1897) George and Annie HUDSON had 7 children including Robert Roland
HUDSON.
HUD/8/Robert R. Robert Roland HUDSON was born on
the 10th of October 1889 at Ararat. Robert was a shop keeper and newsagent. On the 8th of
October 1921 he married Emma Louisa GERLACH at Horsham Church of England. Emma was the
daughter of Johann Charles Ludwig GERLACH, who was born at Lobethal in South Australia on
the 21st of April 1864 and Ellen Ann McGINN who was born on the 8th of May 1871 at
Armstrong in Victoria. Robert and Emma HUDSON had 3 sons including Wallace James.
HUD/9/Wallace J. Wallace James HUDSON was born on
the 30th of June 1924 at Murrumbeena. He helped out in his father's shop, was a farmer and
later a real estate agent and funeral parlour director. On the 7th of October 1947 he
married June Heather SCHULZ at St John's Lutheran Church, Murtoa. June Heather SCHULZ was
born at The Gums Murtoa on the 14th of June 1925. She was the daughter of Carl Heinrich
SCHULZ, who was born on the 3rd of May 1877, and Olga Pauline WAGNER, who was born on the
29th of December 1897. Wallace and June HUDSON had 3 children, Trevor in 1949, Peter in
1952 and Cheryl in 1955.
HUD/10/Trevor J. Trevor James HUDSON was born at
Murtoa hospital on the 3rd of July 1949. In 1968 he started work with the SEC as an
Electrical Tester and later became a Senior Technical Officer. On the 30th of December
1978 he married Jennifer Anne Burdett at West Preston Uniting Church. Jennifer was born on
the 28th of December 1952 in Melbourne and became a Primary School Teacher. Her father
Curtis Siebert Burdett was born at Brunswick on the 5th of January 1921. Her mother Evelyn
Hannah McIntosh was born on the 13th of June 1920 at Kyneton and she married Curtis at
Coburg on the 21st of January 1950. Trevor and Jenny HUDSON have 2 children. Leah Caroline
was born on the 28th of April 1984 and Andrew James on the 16th of May 1986.
HUD/11/Andrew J. Andrew James HUDSON was born at
Waverley Private hospital on the 16th of May 1986 and lives with his parents and sister at
30 Knights Drive Glen Waverley. Like his sister and mother, he has blue eyes and blonde
hair. It is proposed that Andrew will follow the lead of Leah in going to Legend Park Pre
school and then to Camelot Rise Primary school, as both are a convenient walk from home.
The children both enjoy going to toy libraries, play groups, playgyms etc. |
