Your fire brigade is a volunteer organisation, which relies on local people helping local people. CFA Fire Brigades have been a part of your community for over 70 years and we invite you to take an active role in the protection of our community. Mt Eliza Fire Brigade is committed to "Creating Safer Communities".

Our volunteers come from all walks of life. They have diverse backgrounds, interests and skills. You may be:

What's the time commitment? Your level of commitment is up to you. The more members we have the more we can share the load!
Your level of involvement will depend solely on your personal availability. Commitment to the Brigade simply requires time and skills that you can afford to give.
Training CFA volunteers receive nationally recognised and accredited training courses that can be beneficial in both personal and employment environments.
You don't need to have experience to join the Brigade. We will provide you with the skills you need depending on the role you choose. It may include:
- Basic Fire Ground Practices
- Pump Operation
- Fire Safety Awareness
- Radio Communications
- Breathing Apparatus
- Leadership Skills
- Community Education
- Administration
All CFA members are fully trained before attending fires or other incidents.
