Lee Howells and Lynmara Rusano

Lynmara Rusano aka Louis is a 7year old warmblood by Rituel out of a Lucano mare. He was bred and is ridden by Lee Howells. Louis has a quirky personality that keeps me on my toes. We have done both EFA and HRCAV competitions with some success, and are looking forward to moving through the ranks of both associations.
Meaghan Willis and Roxbury Armistice

Harry is a larger than life chestnut gelding by Rituel out of Wundergold (by
Wunder) purchased as a foal from local breeder Malcolm Park. Meaghan and
Harry began their partnership almost 8 years ago and have been members of
the MRDC for that time representing the club on numerous occasions at Inter
Team Challenges.
They have been trained and mentored all the way from Preliminary to PSG by
MRDC mascot Mary Hanna (and Gitte Donvig when Mary is competing overseas).
The pair is on the Victorian Dressage Squad and will be competing at the
National Dressage Championships in October 2008. They are working towards a
Grand Prix start sometime in 2009 and on the day will be drinking lots of
champagne...and carrots for Harry or course!
Ashley Krivé and Shiranna Cointreau ‘n’Ice.

Ice is a 13.3 hh Welsh/ Arab pony. He can be very naughty or very good. Nothing in between. We are Young Rider Dressage Squad members. I am 11 and Ice is 9. I have owned him since he was 5 and I was 7. I have trained him to be a dressage pony with the help of my coaches Judy Peel and Justine Greer. He knew nothing when I first got him and sometimes I think he still does! I do not get one step for free with him but Mum says he is teaching me to be a rider. My best moments were coming 15th in the National Class at the National Young Rider Dressage Championships in 2008 and winning the Primary School Championship at the Victorian Interschool Dressage Championships where Kerry Mack gave us 78%. We also won the Level 4 HRCAV Macedon and District Dressage Series in 2007 where we won our first rug. I am now riding level 3 HRCAV and Prelim EFA.It is hard work but I love it. I love my pony and I want to represent Australia one day. I wish it could be on him.

I have been riding for 36 years and like most riders, started at Pony Club.
I competed at Grade One horse trails at state level for Templestowe Pony Club.
At the age of 16 years I also hunted with Findon Harriers Hunt Club and represented the club at the Royal Melbourne Show in the hunters plates and in the sections fours. This is were four riders (at a hand gallop) jump over a set of 4ft high white gates and then pair up and jump and then group into a team of four and ride over the gates jumping the gates together at the same time! Lots of fun! With the same horse ‘Saratoga’ I competed successfully up to EFA Intermediate level eventing. At Pony Club I was lucky enough to have some outstanding coaches like Captain Harry Sanna (George Sanna’s father); Charlie Moffitt (dec)(famous world cup Show Jumper on Mulga Bill) June James ( dec.) and Lynden Hearn (both top show riders in their day and both went on to be FEI dressage judges)
After a few years away from the horses to pursue a retail management career I returned with an interest in dressage. In 1992 I achieved my Level 1 Coaches certificate and developed a strong clientele with great competitive results for my students and my own riding competition success, specialising in young horses. I went on to start my own business as a coach, judge, and trainer of competition horses. Hence Lauriston Equestrian Coaching was established in 1992.
During this time I have been D.C of two pony clubs, a chief instructor, and was secretary of Avenel Horse Trials for two years. Not to mention the ongoing learning and development as a dressage judge at FEI, EFA and HRCAV level.. Along the way I have always tried to seek out elite instructors for my own riding development. Instructors such as, Miguel Tavora, currently with Claire Ballantyne for over 6 years (UK and Germany), Clemens Dierks (past Australian coach), Henk Van Der Graff and most recently Hartmut Schmidt (piedermiester- Germany who has trained over 60 grand prix dressage horses in Germany and was assistant national coach!)..
Several Young rider students have achieved championships at the EFA Vic State Dressage
Championships and many wins and placing’s at the Pony and Young Rider Dressage Champs for several years in a row. Not to mention huge success in the HRCAV dressage scene. Winning two 100 point dressage trophies on horses Isabella and Northern Allegro and winning the TTT DRESSAGE Championships teams event TWICE! The second time in the Macedon Ranges Team! My business has survived for 16 years despite the ups and downs of the equine world.
At Lauriston Park we pride ourselves in offering complete support for all students, especially at the psychologically level, and follow the classical and systematic training of the horse and rider.
We believe in the 3P’s and the 4D’s Position, Patience and Persistence Desire, Determination, Dedication and Discipline
