Fig Tree Community Garden is a project of the Mooroopna Community Group Inc.

The Garden aims to nurture our Communities intrest in gardening and the theraputic value of doing so. We also aim to make gardening accessable to many people who would not otherwize have the opportunity to tend their own gardens. The garden is utilised by many different groups withihn our community.

 

 

OUTREACH

The Garden provides an outreach program to all primary and secondary schools in the Goulburn Valley region. The aim is to provide horticultural advice in all aspects of gardening including establishing a garden, siol, worms and knowledge of herbs, native plants (including aborigonal food plants), vegetables and fruit.

 

 

VOLUNTEERS

Volunteers are an essential ingredient in the success of the garden. If you have a particular intrest in organic gardening or are looking for work experience in Horticulture Sharon would love to hear from you.

 

 

CERTIFICATE II in HORTICULTURE

This course will provide participants with the necessary skills and knowledge that when combined with workplace skill enhancement will enable them to perform work functions at a certified level of competancy. The course leads to employment opportunities in Gardening, Landscaping and Production Horticulture. The course can be completed in 12 months part time, held one day per week, with a practical competancy requirement. Modules can be taken individually.
