Monash Environment Group - more about us

MEG has campaigned over the years in numerous areas of the environmental cause. We have organised forest education camps in East Gippsland, lobbied for reusable crockery in the university's cafe's, started composting and recycling schemes on campus, and more.

We meet weekly during semester (in the conference room, Union Building, Tuesday 1pm) and new members are always very welcome. We also meet socially and enjoy a good boogie together at least once a semester. You can leave a message with us here, or just come along to a meeting and say g'day in person.

This summer, as always, there's plenty of work to do. Pristine high conservation value rainforests are set to be logged in East Gippsland. Find out what kinds of protest action you can undertake through Friends of the Earth (ph. 9419 8700) or The Wilderness Society.
