BOTANICAL DRAWING
For people who wish to learn the basic principles of the art of
botanical drawing using the graphite pencil. Students will develop
rendering skills with the knowledge of plant structure and through
observation and technique exercises. Emphasis is placed on light
/shade and designing individual compositions.

CALLIGRAPHY - The Art of Beautiful Writing
Calligraphy is a skill that can be learnt by anyone, regardless
of artistic ability. It is an ancient art that has been modernised
for the 21st century. In this ONE DAY workshop the student will
be given a comprehensive introduction to this beautiful and unique
art form. You will learn to create letterforms based on the historic
scripts. Incudes tea breaks and BYO lunch. An extra $5 is required
for equipment hire. It is optional to buy the kit at approximately
$20 for right handed people or $25 for left handed people. Please
let us know if you are left-handed so we can organise pens for you.

A hands-on introduction to the fun of Cryptic Crosswords.
You will learn to recognise the basic types of clue, and to begin
to crack the cryptic codes. You'll be solving puzzles in no time.

This course is scheduled to run in 2005.
This informal Indigenous Art Group has been operating for 6 years.
Come along and share stories and experiences while creating pieces
of Art. Learn about differences between Traditional and contemporary
Aboriginal paintings and their role within the community. If you
have ever wanted to be a part of an Art group or have an interest
in Indigenous Art and issues, e.g. Reconciliation, come along and
join the group.
Subject areas include Acrylic painting/canvas preparation, Exhibition
Management, Traditional Arts & Crafts among others.

Learn the techniques through
a simple project. Everything is supplied for the first session.

PHOTOGRAPHY-Introduction to the Basics
You must have an
SLR Camera NOT a compact camera and please bring a pen and paper.
Learn how to get the most out of your camera. This course is designed
for beginners who want to learn how to use an SLR camera and want
to have a better understanding of photographic techniques. You will
learn about your camera and its parts, the relationship between
shutter speeds and aperture and the depth of field. Other areas
covered are basic lighting techniques using natural or available
light, composition and how to get the most out of your images. Includes
field trip.
