If you or your organisation become a member of the Mechanics' Institutes of Victoria Inc., you will be supporting its endeavours to preserve the rich heritage of Mechanics’ Institutes. You will benefit from:

• Access to the combined resources of Mechanics' Institutes throughout Victoria and Australia through the Mechanics' Institutes Resource Centre. The "MIRC" is a repository of valuable records and ephemera of current or closed Mechanics Institutes.
• Information sharing (both giving and receiving) of the knowledge of individuals and Institutions of like minded aims and ideals.
• Representation through the committee members and others of the MIV to local and State government bodies.
• Receiving a quarterly Newsletter which informs you of the problems and successes of other Mechanics Institutions or Halls throughout Victoria as well as matters of interest pertinent to the operation of MIs.
• Sharing in the development and preservation of Institutes, their Halls and buildings and the remarkable history of many of these organisations during the past 170 years or so.
• Enjoying the bus tours, meetings and events organised to celebrate our cultural heritage.

Annual membership fees are as follows:

• Individuals (local and overseas) and Mechanics Institutes $20
• Corporate $50
