This book contains reprints of the papers presented at the conference "Virtual Reality Systems" held in London in May 1992. The conference was sponsored by the Displays Group of the British Computer Society and co-chaired by Dr Rae Earnshaw and myself.

In addition to the conference papers, there are also papers which we included because of of a percived need (of the readers) and/or importance to the area.
