Zonta international is a global service organisation of executives in business and the professions working to advance the status of women worldwide.

We have over 34,000 members in more than 1200 clubs in 68 countries around the world. Founded in 1919 in Buffalo, New York, USA, Zonta takes its name from a Sioux Indian word meaning 'honest and trustworthy'.

The Zonta emblem is a composite of Sioux Indian symbols. The Zonta Rose serves as a symbol of Zonta Rose Day, which falls on the 8th March and coincides with International Women's Day.
