Merricks Yacht Club was founded in 1964 as a small yard for the many enthusiastic fishermen and sailors in the holiday township of Merricks Beach.
Since then it has grown into a popular local club which provides a great meeting place for local residents and holiday makers alike. The sailing is competitive although not over populated and has produced some keen and enthusiastic yachtsmen and women.
The club is the holder of the much sort after Western Port Challenge shield for off the beach yachts and the Western Port Challenge for TYs.
