The MHG was established in October 1996 with a core membership of about 12 people. Activities include: establishing crisis accomodation for men, running a support group for men, obtaining funding, increasing community awareness of men's issues, and becoming an incorporated body. Any contact with similar groups would be greatly appreciated. Men's issues seem to be gaining momentum but there is little contact or co-operation between groups. There is definitely strength in numbers and there is no point in each group re-inventing the wheel. Perhaps the internet is the ideal solution?
