FUTURE WARRIOR - “Journey of the male spirit” For many years men have played the dominant role in the affairs of the world. Once on the surface it would seem that those of us born as males have had all the luck. This century, women have been busy questioning the system, however, for the most part, men have not. When we look beneath the surface, just how lucky are we? We’ve learned to hide our true feelings for the fear that they’ll be seen as weaknesses. We’ve been taught to compete and that other men are the competition. We’ve been led to believe that happiness is to be found at the top of the corporate ladder or in the acquisition of titles, things and the aura of success. But many of those who have climbed there still find themselves feeling empty and dissatisfied. We are afraid to explore the deepness within us. Instead we keep our emotions at a distance. OUR LOST CONNECTION Since the time of the industrial revolution when men left the land to work in factories we have gradually lost touch with what it is to be a man. Now almost 200 years on, we have generations of men who are almost totally disconnected with their earthy, wild, primitive and natural essence. Whereas our ancestors spent their childhood and adolescence surrounded by authentic examples of masculinity, and spent their days learning crafts, listening to stories, and singing songs... These days we leave our young sons to the company of women. Small wonder so many of us spend the rest of our lives relating to women as if they were our mother. And even smaller wonder that so many wives are so unsatisfied. We’ve lost our real role models. They’ve been replaced by shallow Hollywood fantasies. We have missed out on our rites of passage that takes us from boys to fully realised, fully functioning men. THE WAY BACK Future Warrior is such a passage. It is a powerful weekend journey for men who are willing to tap into the deep wellspring of true power and personal essence that is our birthright. It is a place to experience ancient rites and rituals. A place to gain new insights and a deeper appreciation of indigenous cultures. To re-discover our connection with nature. It is for those men who are committed to living a life of passion, discovering their mission and fulfilling their potential. To move through and beyond the purifying fire of their own fear. Those who are willing to reveal their deepest wounds, confront their worst fears, share their greatest joys and come truly to know themselves. Only when we have accepted ourselves and our brothers as men can we be fully humanised adults.
