Walking the Kokoda Trial
From late August a team of RAWCS supporters will be making the extraordinary journey along the Kokoda Trail in Papua New Guinea. They will trace the steps of the Australian Forces through the Owen Stanley Range and honour the handful of 18 year old Militia troops who stood between the enemy onslaught and our homeland. Most of our diggers had not previously fired a shot in anger.
The challenging 96 kilometre walk will also be undertaken to raise funds and awareness for the many programs of RAWCS and provide the organisation with the confidence to enter into major humanitarian projects with other groups and Governments.

Undoubtedly, some of the funds will be used to support our projects in Papua New Guinea and perhaps even help the grandchildren of the original fuzzy wuzzy angels.

Our club’s Treasurer Rick Altman will represent D9800 on this epic walk and sponsorships are sought, you can discuss this with Rick on 0417 537 846
