conditions are as follows:
1.
Students of the Melba Conservatorium are required to
show their current ID card to the Librarian when borrowing
materials from the Library
2. Borrowing may occur only when the
Librarian or Librarian’s assistant is present
3. The normal loan period for books
is two weeks, but this period may be extended during
vacations and may also be reduced for items in high
demand
4. Items may be extended twice, and
only if no one has reserved the item
5. Sheet music and scores are available
for loan as per books but should not be copied unless
in conformity with the provisions of the Copyright Act
6. Items that are for use only within
the Library, and may not be taken out of the Library
include:
Journals/Periodicals, Reference materials, Compact Discs
and records (LPs)
7. Borrowed items are to be returned
by the due date and are to be deposited in the returns
box
8. Items returned from loan may not
be borrowed again until the Librarian has recorded their
return
9. Borrowers are responsible for the
items they have borrowed
10. If one or more library item(s)
is/are overdue by 7 days or more, all borrowing privileges
will be suspended until the item(s) is/are returned
11. If one or more library item(s)
is/are overdue by 21 days or more, an infringement notice
will be issued. All items will be charged at $55 (GST
free) each, as well as a $20 (GST free) administration
fee. If item(s) is/are returned after the notice has
been processed, the $20 administration fee is still
payable.
A
photocopying machine is available using an access card
system. The initial photocopy card costs $6.60 (incl.
GST) with 50 copies credit. The used card is recharged
at the cost of $5.50 (incl. GST).
Four
Personal Computers (PCs) are available in the Library
for student use. Students may access the Internet, other
libraries’ catalogues, or word-processing. These
PCs are to be used for study purposes only, and printing
costs .25c per page (incl. GST).
