CFS/ME GuidelinesLatest Update - see belowWhat are the Guidelines?'Clinical Practice Guidelines' on the evaluation of prolonged fatigue and the diagnosis and management of chronic fatigue syndrome' have been released for comment.This is an important document which has been made available to all GPs in Australia and has been published in the Medical Journal of Australia. A detailed analysis of the guidelines written by a past president of the CFS/ME Society of Victoria, Jim Oakley. Download the whole submission in text format. February 2002 - After a five-year wait the Clinical Practice Guidelines for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome will now be published in the Medical Journal of Australia's late February or early March edition. Final editing is currently in progress with copies only available to the Working Group and a small group of consumers designated by the Consumer Health Forum's representative, Craig Ellis. More details via the Alison Hunter Memorial Foundation. August 2001 - Activity has recommenced on the guidelines with version 2 of the draft being released for comment. March 1999 - The final version of the document was due for release during the middle of last year, however it has been held up. Last word was that it was still in preparation.
